Intro To Prt

Personal Rapid Transit

PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) is the most common name for systems where small vehicles transport people directly to their destinations on exclusive tracks. As the tracks are separated from other traffic the vehicles can be fully automatic. To minimize the travel time all stations are on side tracks so that your vehicle can pass by if other vehicles stop to pick up or drop of their passengers.

In most locations in our cities finding available land for exclusive tracks at ground level is very hard. Instead most PRT systems are designed with guideways which are special beams which carry the vehicles above street level. The guideways are suspended from posts at regular intervals. As the vehicles are small and light (in contrast with trams) the guideways can be made very slim and inexpensive.

The stations are small and closely spaced. Normally there is a station within 300 meters (1000 ft) from the home and work place. This is similar to the spacing of bus stops. The big advantage is that once you reach your closest stop there is an exclusive vehicle waiting for you which will take you immediately to any other stop within the PRT network.

So instead of having systems of fixed lines with time tables and ask of passengers to wait for vehicles and change lines to get to their destination the PRT vehicles will select the fastest route from the origin to the destination. This results in a mean speed similar to a private car travelling in an uncongested road network.

We have researched transportation systems in many cities around the globe and discovered that most are heavily subsidised and also that they make very little impact on reducing what appears to be inherent congestion within cities.

We would welcome the opportunity to tell you more of our system, which when operational does not require a subsidy and in fact would provide you with a handsome income, and as an addition to your existing transport systems will make a massive contribution in reducing your cities congestion  pollution and waste problems.

To reinforce our ability in achieving the above we will undertake to install a 10 km system utilising our unique Finance package which can mean there is no cost to the city.

We get our money back….. and profits ….from fare paying passengers and electricity consumers, we even maintain everything. It can cost you nothing and your city has a share in the income.

PRT is a ground breaking public transportation system of the future “available now”. It can be used alongside established road and rail systems that on their own do very little to diminish the increasing congestion experienced by both pedestrians and road traffic and which in turn has a huge impact on a countries economy. PRT will work besides these traditional systems to collaborate in minimising congestion, and the fundamental economic consequences, and by the character of its efficiency and use will provide a considerable revenue income for the Cities who install it.

PRT is a “distinctive taxi service” where small, fully automatic, air-conditioned, driver-less, light weight Pods, driven by pollution free electric motors, using less energy than that that of a hairdryer cruising safely and autonomously on an overhead network of light guide ways suspended some 10 meters above ground supported by slender columns every 30 to 70 meters or so apart.

Exceptional computer control and video monitoring is installed in the system so that any Pod can be re-routed directly to the police station if necessary, this will deter vandals and could also be an advantage if a passenger requires re-routing to a hospital.

Pods can travel inner city with an average speed of 50km/h average and can take an individual or up to 6 passenger directly to their destination without any intermediate stops. If necessary, it is possible to change the destination whilst traveling. Stations, every 300m are off-line and therefore do not obstruct the flow of other Pod traffic along the ‘main’ line which runs 24/7.

Maglev Movers:

• Will be built and operated without Public Subsidies.

• Will be constructed in a shorter time scale than current available transport systems.

• Will provide a substantial income for a town, city or private enterprise.

• Will provide a high ROI for investors.

• Will substantially reduce congestion and pollution and fuel costs.

• Will be a valuable aid to the Police and Ambulance services by virtue of its blanket coverage of Towns and Cities and it’s on board surveillance.

• Travel is on demand, operates 24/7 and has no timetables or fixed routes, it’s a nonstop taxi without the driver or waiting.

• Destination is reached directly, sooner and safer and at a cost comparable to a bus ticket.

• Higher transport capacity than tramways (LRT).

• Can be used for goods delivery and refuse removal, this can seriously reduce the need for heavy lorries entering Towns and Cities.

• Twice the numbers of Pods are available for average daily use therefore reducing waiting at peak times to a minimum.

• Will be an tourism attraction

Possible most important – • Is substantially cheaper than any other transport system.
